Configuration/tracking of COM+ components. There is not a lot of information around on what this service is actually used for. Despite the description by microsoft, if disabled, most if not all COM+ applications continue to function properly.
Service Description:
Manages the configuration and tracking of Component Object Model (COM)+-based components.
Consequences of Stopping:
If the service is stopped, most COM+-based components will not function properly. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.
