Description:
Performance logging. Kind of handy, but I have found no 'need' for it yet, especially since 90% of users do not use it, and the ones that do use it, know not to set it to default.
Service Description:
Performance Logs and Alerts Collects performance data from local or remote computers based on preconfigured schedule parameters, then writes the data to a log or triggers an alert.
Consequences of Stopping:
If this service is stopped, performance information will not be collected. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.
All services listed in 'Required For' will be unable to function
